Why Cincinnati

Cincinnati is very progressive and advanced as it relates to Health IT and Quality Improvement (QI) which has resulted in >$40 million dollars in federal funding to build a health IT and QI infrastructure.  HealthBridge and The Health Improvement Collaborative are two organizations that are responsible for obtaining the majority of this funding and play an instrumental role in driving health care transformation.

The advanced health IT and quality improvement work as well as the involvement of large employers,  like GE Aviation and Proctor and Gamble,  have resulted in Cincinnati being awarded several innovative pilot programs/ demonstration projects for national initiatives:

It was recently announced that Cincinnati is part part of the CPCI (Comprehensive Primary Care Initiative) that could amount to more than $200 million in increased reimbursement for patient centered medial home (PMCH) practices over the next 4 years.  Click here for more info about CPCI.  PCMH practices have the potential to serve as pilot programs for new health IT products that focus on patient engagement or support physician’s practices to improve outcomes and reduce costs.

Additionally, Cincinnati was named the "most social media savvy city" by Mashable last year.  Check out the article here.   We have a lot of people using new media, which provides strong opportunities fro consumer/ patient engagement.

If those are not enough reasons to convince you to bring your Health IT Startup to Cincinnati, feel free to email me and I am happy to share more!  Questions@Innov8forHealth.com.
